먹방이란?

먹방은 먹는다는 뜻의 '먹'과 방송의 '방'이 합쳐진 신조어다.

먹방문화는 2009년 대한민국의 인터넷 플랫폼 아프리카TV에서 시작되었다. 유튜브를 통해 세계적으로 인기를 끌자, 먹방의 한국어 병음 'Mukbang'이 그대로 전세계 유튜버의 콘텐츠로 재생산되면서 고유명사화 되었다. 많은 외신들이 한국의 먹방 문화에 관심을 쏟을 정도다. <이코노미스트>, <허핑턴 포스트>, <월 스트리트 저널> 등에서도 소개되었다.

What is Mukbang?

In the word Mukbang, “Muk” (먹) is to eat and “bang” (방) is the emission. It is a new word.

The culture of mukbang began on Africa TV, which has been an internet platform since 2009 in Korea. Mukbang became famous through YouTube. Thus, the Korean pinyin/romanization 'Mukbang' played as YouTubers content worldwide and became a name of its own. A lot of news abroad spoke about this and sparked interest in the Korean culture of Mukbang. It was discussed in the magazines: Economist, Huffington Post, and The Wall Street Journal.

¿El mukbang?

El mukbang significa “먹” es comer y “방” es la emisión. Es una palabra nueva. 
La cultura de mukbang comenzó en Africa TV, la cual es una plataforma de internet desde 2009 en Corea. El mukbang se hizo famoso a través de Youtube. Así, el pinyin coreano 'Mukbang' de Mukbang se reprodujo como el contenido de YouTubers en todo el mundo y se convirtió en un nombre propio.
Muchas noticias en el extranjero hablaban sobre esto y despertó el interés en la culutra coreana del Mukbang. 
Se habló de Mukbang en las revistas: Economist, Huffingtonpost y The Wall Street Journal.

먹는 행위는 단순히 생존을 넘어 삶과 문화와 밀접한 관련을 맺는다.

특히, 1인 가구의 발달로 인해 혼자 식사를 하는 사람들이 많아지면서 혼자 식사하는 사람들이 보통 식사를 할 때 인터넷 먹방 유튜브 영상을 보기도 하며, 그저 먹는 모습을 보기위해 먹방 영상을 찾는 사람도 많다. 먹방 영상을 통해 대리만족을 느끼기도 하고 날씬한 모습에 강박을 느끼는 현대인은 먹방에서 해방감을 느낀다는 해석도 있다. 최근에는 ASMR(Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response)을 통해 시청자들로 하여금 시청각 모두를 만족시킬 수 있는 영상 유행하고 있다. 나 또한 공부할 때면 보통 잔잔한 음악이나 파도소리, 비오는 소리 등의 영상을 틀어 놓기도 한다.

In particular, due to the development of single-person households, as more people dine alone, people who dine alone usually watch Internet eating YouTube videos when they eat, and many people look for eating ware videos just to see how they eat. There is also an interpretation that modern people who feel surrogate satisfaction through the eating video feel obsessive about the slim appearance and feel free from eating. Recently, the video fashion that allows viewers to satisfy all audiovisuals is being popular through ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response). Also, when I study, I usually play videos such as calm music, waves, and rain.

 

El comer tiene estrecha relación relación con el significado de la vida y la cultura de la supervivencia.

Principalmente se puede ver una situación muy especial pues muchas personas comen solas. Así, las personas comen la comida interactuando en el video del Mukbang. Algunos espectadores solo quieren ver como comen. 
Existe una interpretación moderna de que la gente siente satisfacción y obsesión por la aparencia, entonces al tener una figura delgada se sienten libres viendo el video de mukbang.
Recientemente, también se ha vuelto famoso el video ASMR, el cual puede satisfacer todos los gustos audiovisuales. Yo también suelo escuchar musica tranquila o el sonido de las olas o, también, el sonido de la lluvia.

먹방으로 정보도 얻고 언어 공부도 할 수 있다고?

나 또한 먹방 유튜브 영상을 자주 본다. 상황에 따라 다르지만, 혼자 식사할 때 보기도 하지만 보통은 유튜버들이 다양한 음식을 소개를 해줘 평소 즐겨서 먹는 음식 이외에 현재 한국에서 새롭게 출시된 음식, 유행하는 음식 등에 관한 정보를 얻을 수 있어서 즐겨보는 것 같다.

언어를 배울 때 처음부터 신문을 읽고 기사를 읽는 다는 것은 무리이다. 무작정 단기간에 높은 목표를 갖고 공부하기 보다는 자신의 관심분야에 관한 영상을 통해 언어를 공부한다면, 그 효과는 배가 될 것이다. 먹방 컨텐츠의 경우 사용되는 말을 반복 효과를 누릴 수 있고 맛에 있어서 다양한 표현을 배울 수 있을 것이다.

 

I also watch YouTube videos of Mukbang frequently. It depends on the situation, but often Mukbang is watched when eating alone. YouTubers introduce a variety of foods, so people can get information about newly released foods/trendy foods.

 It is unreasonable to read a newspaper or an article when learning a language. If you study a language through videos that surround your interests rather than studying with high goals in a short period of time, the effect will be doubled. In the case of Mukbang content, you can enjoy the repetitive use of the words and phrases and learn various expressions Koreans use while they eat.

Yo también suelo ver este tipo de videos en Youtube. Cuando como solo, yo lo veo a veces. Pero la razón por la que los veo es que puedo recibir información. Porque los youtubers presentan varias comidas que no he comido,y comida famosa y nueva. Cundo se aprende un idioma, es difícil ver diarios y noticias al principio. Si quieres aprender el idioma coreano sin ningún plan, les recomiendo ver el video del sector favorito. El efecto se duplicará. En el caso del video de Mukbang repita mucho las mismas palabras y puede apreder las distintas expresiones del gusto.
