The movie I want to present to you is "Extreme Occupations".

The genre of the film is a comedy and was released on January 1, 2019. It is a famous film that was very successful and took second place in the history of Korean films. It is a film that makes you laugh while watching it.

The film is detective/crime theme with a funny tone. The story is set in a fried chicken restaurant, which becomes unexpectedly successful after being seized for a criminal investigation. Although the crime in this film is not a light content, it is a typical comic action movie that can be seen with pleasure.

In one part of the film there is a scene where a character has to take over a noisy chicken coop to catch a drug dealer. You may think that the character agrees to take over the chicken coop to better observe criminals, but personally I think there is more meaning behind that.

Because chicken has various meanings in Korea. In our culture of "치맥" (beer chicken) it is the food that represents the common people. The chicken restaurant is the place where Koreans go to rest after leaving work. In this regard, the film well reflects various aspects of Korean life with an entertaining story. This especially adds to what actor Ryu Seung-yong said: "Small businessmen risk their lives" at the end of the film, which was a very significant message.

 

Plot

My Perspective

Extreme jobs mean those that are still working in very difficult working conditions.

In addition to the police in the movie, our fathers and mothers in each field are doing their best in their jobs. Thanks to their hard work, we have become prosperous in today’s world and Korea has grown like this.
